Coy L. Crider, 80, of Valdosta died Friday, August 25, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. He was born on June 7, 1937 in St. Matthews, South Carolina to the late Joe Crider and Lila Rast Crider. A resident of Valdosta, since 1975, he served in the Vietnam conflict and was retired from the United States Air Force. Mr. Crider was a dedicated member of the Lowndes Vikings Touchdown Club.
Survivors include his former wife, Emma Crider of Valdosta; son, Danny Crider of Ray City, daughter and son-in-law, Janet Crider Banks (Charles) of Lake Park, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis Crider (Wilma) of Bowie Maryland, Bobby Joe Crider (JoAnn) of Columbia, SC, two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Crider-George of Greenville, SC, Dot Crider of Manassas, VA, three grandchildren, Charlie Banks, Anthony Crider (Jamie), and Johnny Crider (Becky) and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, William Joey Crider, brother Floyd Crider, Heyward Crider, and a sister Dianne Carlson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Gupton officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm at the funeral home on Monday, August 28, 2017. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
