MSGT. Coy C. Bennett, RET. USAF, 54, of Naylor died on Monday, September 28, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Lowndes County on December 23, 1954. Mr. Bennett was a Baptist and a member of the American Legion. He was a loving husband and wonderful, generous Daddy and Granddaddy.
Survivors are his wife, Audrey S. Bennett of Naylor; daughters and sons in law, Brandie and Marc Dame of Naylor, Brooke and Mark Starr of Valdosta, step-daughter, Hannah Key of Boerne, Texas; grandchildren, Bayleigh Dame, age 3, of Naylor, Brooklyn Starr, age 18 months, of Valdosta, his father, Etheridge Bennett of Conyers, brothers and sisters in law, Paul and Dot Bennett of Valdosta, E. J. and Brenda Bennett of Savannah; sisters and brothers in law, Geneva and Hubert Martin, Sylvia and Dewayne Sellars of Conyers, brothers in law and sister in law, Edra Wrye of Macon, Larry and Janis Smith of Loganville; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eula Bennett and brother, Dell Bennett.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. Bryan Jarvis and Mr. Larry Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Longbridge Cemetery in Nashville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America P.O.
