Courtney Makala Moore, 18, of Valdosta, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 25, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on April 29, 1996 in Tifton, Georgia to the late Ricky Moore, Jr. and Patricia Cardin Ridall. Courtney's life was filled with joy, happiness, love, and caring for others that she came in contact with every day. This was best exhibited through her volunteer work with the outpatient center at South Georgia Medical Center. Courtney's zest for life was also expressed in her artwork, her love of Paris France, sock monkey's, her "babies" Chase and Ceasar, her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Courtney graduated from Lowndes High School this past May, Class of 2014, and was currently attending Georgia Military College. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church where she was saved and baptized. She now dances with the angels.
Survivors include her parents, Patricia and Douglass Ridall, of Valdosta; a sister, Brittany Cardin and her fiancée, Branden Katt both of Valdosta; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Nick and Heather Cardin of Adel and Ricky Moore III of Huntsville, Alabama; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kristen and Micah North of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Sara Ridall of Morven; grandparents, Judy and Douglas Cercy of Barney; grandfather, Steve Cardin of Crawfordville, Florida; grandparents, Ricky, Sr. and Debbie Moore of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; great-grandfather, Tim Hiers of Barney; step-grandparents, Larry and Judy Ridall of Papillion, Nebraska; a niece, Emma-Jayne Cardin of Adel; her boyfriend, Logan Brannan of Valdosta and his parents, Joyce and Keith Brannan of Lake Park; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other loving family and friends. In addition to her father, Ricky Moore, Jr., Courtney was preceded in death by her step-mother, Tasha Moore, and her great-grandmother, Joyce Hiers.
Services for Courtney Makala Moore will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Gateway Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Seiverd officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
