Cornelius "Cory" Boney

Cornelius "Cory" Boney, 43, of Valdosta died Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Langdale Hospice House. He was born and raised in Berkeley, California on December 2, 1972 to the late George Boney and Roxie Davis Whitfield and attended schools in Berkeley, California. Mr. Boney was a member of the Northside Baptist Church where he served on the janitorial staff. He loved serving on the staff of Northside Baptist Church. Cory also volunteered in the AWANA program leading the music. He and his wife, Noretta also volunteered with Living Bridges Ministry. Cory was a God-fearing believer in Christ who loved his family very much. He was a talented musician who enjoyed listening to music, singing, playing the guitar and piano by ear. Cory was very articulate and intelligent in technology and mathematics. He was a very skilled artist. He enjoyed playing basketball with his daughter. His sister, Kutrina had a very important role in helping to rear Cory and he was very helpful to her in learning the use of computers.
Survivors include his wife, Noretta Boney, his daughter, Katayla Boney both of Valdosta; two sisters and a brother in law, Kutrina Mix of Oakland, California and Dr. Diana Evans and Virgil Evans of Vallejo, California; his uncle, Wesley Davis of Las Vegas, NV; his aunt, Cathy Davis of El Sobrante, California; a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Cornelius Boney will be held at 1pm, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Robby Foster officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 12pm until service time. The family requests that floral arrangements are ones that they can carry to their home after the services.
