Corinna Griffin Phillips, 91, of Valdosta died suddenly on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the Memorial Convalescent Home in Adel. She was born on July 3, 1915 in Coolidge to the late Stephen and Lena Green Griffin and had lived in Valdosta since 1988. Mrs. Phillips was a former resident of College Park, Georgia where she worked as buyer for Rich’s Department Store. She was a member of the DAR, the Eastern Star and had served on the College Park City Council. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the First Baptist Church in College Park.
Survivors include a nephew and his wife, Steve and Libby Harper of Valdosta as well as other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. (Charlie) Phillips, three sisters, Cleo McAllister, Rosa Lee Harper, Ruby White and a brother, Bill Griffin.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, May 17, 2007 in the Azalea Room Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. George LaHood officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:30pm until service time at the funeral home. Entombment will be held at 1pm, Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Westview Cemetery Mausoleum in Atlanta.
