Colton Wayne Shaw, 14, of Lakeland, passed away on March 26, 2015, playing the sport that he loved the most. Baseball was his passion along with hunting, fishing and playing with his sisters. Colton was born on August 24, 2000 in Valdosta. He was a member of Redland Baptist Church and was a 9th grade student at Valdosta High School. He played baseball for Valdosta High School Wildcats and Titletown Tigers. Colton was a member of FCA. Letting his light shine for Christ, Colton never met a stranger and showed God's love in everything he did. He lived life to the fullest.
Survivors are his parents, Clay and Gwin Shaw of Lakeland; siblings, Gailey Shaw and Ellie Grace Shaw of Lakeland; maternal grandparents, Syble and Raymond Griffin of Hahira, paternal grandparents, Gail and Cleveland Shaw of Valdosta; great grandmother, Amelia Curry; cousins, Jacob Chandler, Abigail Chandler, Judson Shaw, Rylee Shaw; aunts and uncles, Shannon and Clay Chandler, David Griffin, Josh and Callie Shaw and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services for Colton will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at CrossPointe Church 110 Northside Drive, Valdosta. Reverend Brian Gay will officiate. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the Valdosta High School Performing Arts Center, 3101 N. Forrest St., Valdosta.
