Colleen Davis Elliott, 92, of Barney died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman after a lengthy illness. She was born on April 26, 1921 in Blackshear, Georgia to the late James B. and Susie Aspinwall Davis and had lived in Brooks County for many years. Mrs. Elliott was a member of the Campground United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Patricia and George Sandlin of Lake Park, two sons and daughters in law, Ted and LuRheeta Elliott of Ray City, Jack and Lawana Elliott of Barney, her grandchildren, Lisa Speigner, Clorissa Parker, Frankie Taylor, Matthew Elliott, Emilie Elliott, Brian Quinlan, Ben Elliott, Taylor Elliott, 10-great grandchildren, 2-great great grandchildren, five sisters, Lillian Coleman of Jacksonville, FL, Christine McCormick of Sanderson, FL, Louise Norman of Starke, FL, Helen Henderson and Darcile Murray both of Jacksonville, FL, three brothers, Earl Davis of MacClenny, FL, Colen Davis of Starke, FL and Charlie Davis of Glen St. Mary, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Edward Elliott and three brothers, Raybon Davis, J. C. Davis and Edward Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, July 27, 2013, Campground United Methodist Church with Rev. John Harrington officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery.
