Clyde Hightower Moore, 79, of Valdosta died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Lowndes County on March 16, 1931 to the late Carroll Smith and Lillie Moore Hightower and had lived in Valdosta most of her life. Mrs. Moore was a Presbyterian and retired from First Union Bank. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, cooking and working in her yard. Mrs. Moore was always upbeat and enjoyed being with people.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Jan Moore Caldwell and Ronnie Caldwell of Lake Park, two sons and daughters in law, Robert D. (Buddy) and Donna Moore, Stuart and Catherine Moore all of Valdosta, her grandchildren, Ashley Moore and his wife, Jessica, Heather Moore and her fiancé, Danny Johnson, Jenna Moore Herring and her husband, John, David Moore, Stephen Moore, great grandchildren, Kailey Williams, Levi Herring, Lilli Moore and Reese Moore. Her sisters and brothers, Ida Carter, Catherine (J.C.) Cowart, B. S. Hightower, Ed (Madlyn) Hightower, Aline Voltz, John (Mary Frances) Hightower, Ruth(George) Smith all of Valdosta, brother in law, Joe Nell of Harrisburg, PA. numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Pearl Nell of Harrisburg, PA., sister in law, Sarah Hightower and a brother in law, G. N. Voltz.
Graveside services will be held at 11am, Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Hightower Cemetery with Pastor David Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
