Clora Mae Fussell, 86, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the South Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. She was born on September 17, 1925 in Holmes County Florida to the late William Columbus and Mary Ann Huggins Prescott. She was a homemaker, a Pink Lady volunteer with South Georgia Medical Center for over 25 years, a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a devoted, faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, George Jr., and Bobbie Fussell, Markey Fussell, Gerald (DeDe) and Gail Fussell all of Valdosta; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George Fussell, Sr.; her son, Robert Fussell; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Clay Jones; sisters, Myrtie Cummings, Mamie Bunch, Alma McRae, and Gussie McRae and her brother, William Prescott.
Services for Clora Mae Fussell will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Park with Rev. Robbie Harrington, Rev. Carlton Allen and Rev. Ronnie Taylor officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
