Clinton E. Harris

Clinton E. Harris, 81, of Lake Park died on Monday, May 13, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. He was born on August 15, 1931 in Lakeland, Florida to the late Lucien and Lillian Harrelson Harris. He was a veteran of the Navy reserves and the United States Army where he served during the Korean Conflict. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in forestry and began with Rayonier where he retired as a Forester Supervisor. Upon retirement, he moved to the Valdosta area in 1996. Mr. Harris was a member of the North Valdosta Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Harris of Lake Park; four children and their spouses, Elizabeth and Tom Maugeri of Bethlehem, Georgia, Todd and Thea Harris of Germany, Mitzi and Hubby Brooks of Valdosta, and C.L. and Becky Harris of Hahira; 11 grandchildren, Gary Prine and Chase Prine both of Valdosta, Pearson Maugeri and his wife Charlene of Ohio, Hobie Harris of Hahira, Kayla Prine of Valdosta, Jordan Maugeri of Bethlehem, Georgia, Wyatt Harris of California, Danyon Maugeri of Bethlehem, Georgia, Bryce Harris of Hahira, Emmaline Maugeri of Bethlehem, Georgia and Cooper Harris of Hahira; a sister, Linda Bell of Gainesville, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lamar Harris and Kenneth Harris and a sister, Kay Hornsby.

Services for Clinton E. Harris will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Kent Heaton officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
