Claryce Jeanette Cook, 89, of Hahira, passed away Wednesday April 27, 2022 at The Fellowship Home. She was born in Hahira on September 3, 1932 to the late Calvin Thomas and Annie Lou Bass Thomas. Mrs. Cook was a retired school teacher with the Lowndes County Board of Education. She was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was involved in many church activities. She later attended Twin Lakes Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Cook received her Bachelors of Science in 1962 at Valdosta State College. She loved hand painting pottery and traveling.
Surviving Mrs. Cook are two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Derrick Cook (Amanda M.) of Hahira, Terence Cook (Amanda G.) of Albany; four greatgrandchildren, Nicholas Cook, Ben Harper, Kylee Cook and Madison Cook. She is also survived by her trusted furry canine friend, Sugar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Cook and her son, Dale Cook.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cook will be held at 11:00 am Saturday May 7, 2022 at Lake Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Hauser officiating. The burial will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
