Clara O'Connor

Clara O’Connor, 73 of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on January 11, 1933 in Reevesville, IL, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Maude Renfro Trout and the widow of the late Norris L. O’Connor. Mrs. O’Connor was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a devout Christian who adored her children and grandchildren and was a beloved mother and grandmother.

Survivors are her children and their spouses, Stephen and Carol O’Connor of Tallahassee, Beverly and Ronald Giles of Valdosta, Shawn and Karen O’Connor of Hahira; grandchildren, Lee O’Connor, J. G. O’Connor, Kelly O’Connor Dawkins, Rachael O’Connor and Meagen O’Connor; great grandchildren, Hannah Dawkins, Brianna Dawkins and Stephen O’Connor, III; daughter-in-law, Gigi O’Connor of Hamilton County, FL and five brothers and sisters. She was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy O’Connor.


Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Hart officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Presbyterian Disasters Assistance or Break Bread Program at First Presbyterian Church.
