Cindy Garvin Taylor

Cindy Garvin Taylor, 51, of Lake Park died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at her home. She was born in Valdosta on April 15, 1960 and was the daughter of the late James T. and Mary Richardson Garvin. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and a registered nurse with South Georgia Medical Center. She loved her cats and was an activist for animal rights. Mrs. Taylor loved spending time with her husband, gardening, collecting dolls, cooking, reading, knitting, cross-stitching, walking and exercising.

Survivors include her husband, Billy C. Taylor of Lake Park, her brother, Tracy Garvin of Atlanta, sisters and brother in law, Patsy and Bill Dunlap of Greenville, SC. and Nancy Bossert of Savannah, her mother in law, Stella Lorraine Taylor of Nashville, brothers in law and sisters in law, Flick and Toni Taylor of Nashville, Valiree and Ronnie Lightsey of Lake Park, special friends and caregivers, Nancy Nolan, Latrelle Peters both of Valdosta, Dr. Francis and Betty Coleman of Homerville, Keiko McBride of Quitman, Kathy Smith of Valdosta, Lisa Parker of North Carolina, Bethany Hospice and many other friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Monday, September 26, 2011 at Christ Episcopal Church with Rev. Tar Drazdowski officiating. Entombment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Nashville. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Francis Animal Rescue for Cats in c/o Christ Episcopal Church, 1521 N.
