Charles Hoyt "Chuck" Williams, 50, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, February 20, 2016, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in Cocoa Beach, Florida, on March 18, 1965, Chuck was the son of the late Luther Charles and Phyllis Atkins Williams. He loved his job with the Scruggs Asphalt Company where he had worked for 25 years. Chuck was an avid story teller, spinning tales of his adventures and travels. He loved riding his motorcycle, working on cars, and lending a hand to people. He was famous for the smiles he carried around in his back pocket. An advocate for animals, Chuck leaves behind his two cats, Powder and Mufassa and his canine buddy, Jelly Bean.
Survivors are his son, David (Chrystal) Williams of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Dawson, Cayden, Daniel, Bethany and Olivia all of Knoxville; sisters, Carolyn "Sissy" Goslin of Valdosta, Brenda Looney of Gadsden, Alabama; brother and sisters in law, Ricky and Laura Johnson of Gadsden, Alabama, Carla Nash of Valdosta, special lifetime friends, Matt and Ashley Bailey, and Joey Weldon, and a special niece, Doris Campbell of Valdosta.
Family and biker friends will gather at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Patterson Street at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016, and bike to McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park where memorial services for Chuck will begin at 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be made online at www.mclanecares.com.
