Charles William (Chuck) Ramer, Jr., 51, of Valdosta, died on December 25, 2008 at Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness . Born on June 9, 1957 in Pensacola, Florida, Chuck was a graduate of Valdosta High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a truck driver and for several years he owned Chuck's Lawn Service. Chuck was known for his beautiful handcrafted furniture that he made in Hampton, Virginia.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ramer of Valdosta; sons, Adam Ramer Daugherty of Nashville, Cameron Ramer, Ian Ramer and William Kyle Ramer, all of Valdosta; mother and stepfather, Betty and Larry Moseley of Valdosta; father and stepmother, Charles and Debby Ramer of Hahira; sisters, Brenda Miller of Valdosta and Jena Ramer of Hahira; special nieces, Angela Cannington and her husband, Ronnie, Alicia Jackson and her husband David, Jessica Youmans and her husband, Levi, all of Valdosta. Chuck is also survived by two great nieces, two great nephews and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy White officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P.O. Box 1727, Valdosta, GA 31603.
