Christine Hayes

Christine Hayes, 80, of Barney died Friday, January 2, 2009 at Smith Northview Hospital. She was born on June 25, 1928 in Colquitt County to the late Leslie and Myrtice May Tillman and had lived in Brooks County for many years. Mrs. Hayes was a member of the Morrison Baptist Church. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and gardening.

Survivors include three daughters and a son in law, Judy Gantt of Clinton, SC., Wanda Tehonica of Griffin, Diane and Benny Hancock of Hahira, three sons and daughters in law, Billy and Jean Hayes of Ninety Six, SC., Ronny and Alice Hayes of Barney, Craig and Sherry Hayes of Valdosta, 16-grandchildren, 9-great grandchildren, three sisters and a brother in law, Rebecca and Olan Bradford of Quitman, Lavonne Tillman and Linda Camp both of Porterfield, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. (J.B.) Hayes, two sons, Bobby Hayes and Tommy Hayes and a grandson, Stan Andrews.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the Morrison Baptist Church with Rev. John David Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Morrison Cemetery.
