Christine Cooper Ross

Christine Cooper Ross, 90, of Valdosta went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 6, 2015. She was born in Muscogee County, Georgia on October 19, 1924 to the late Ira David and Eddie Mae West Cooper and had lived in this area for many years. Mrs. Ross was a charter member of the Bemiss Road Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Tina Kent and Elizabeth Bussey Johns both of Valdosta, five grandchildren, Rita Lynn (Ken) Hooper of Williamson, GA, Christie Michelle (Keith) Barber of Fayetteville, GA, Joey Daniel (Dawn) Kent, April Elizabeth (Justin) Atchison, Kyle William Kent and his fiancé Allison Colabine all of Valdosta; 12-great grandchildren, 4-great great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia (Paul) Layton of Lake City, FL, Betty Johnson and Sanford Luke of Tifton; brother in law, Vernon Ross of Bristol, FL; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey William Ross, an infant daughter, two sons in law, John Raymond Kent and Darrell Bussey, three brothers, Clarence Cooper, C.L. Cooper and Benny Cooper and two sisters, Rozean Summerall Lovett and Dovie Pritchard.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 10am-11:30am at the Bemiss Road Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Bemiss Road Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Edwards and Brother Justin Atchison officiating.
