Charlotte Coppage Wasson, 69, of Hahira, died Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta after a lengthy illness. She was born in Valdosta on January 31, 1939 to the late Slater L. and Udelle Fletcher Coppage. Mrs. Wasson graduated from Fitzgerald High School, attended Valdosta State University and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. She received an associates degree in nursing and was previously employed at South Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Wasson was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star, a Lowndes 4-H volunteer leader and an honorary Georgia Master 4-H member.
She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Pam and Norris Cooper of Moultrie, Patricia and Marvin Barlow of Omaha, Nebraska and Leslie Brock of Dublin, five grandchildren, Marvin Barlow of Omaha, Nebraska, Kendall, Kelsey and Kirby Cooper of Moultrie and Kelly Brock of Dublin, brother and sister in law, Richard and Martha Coppage of Athens, step brothers and sisters in law, Henry and Donette Ivemeyer, Jr. of Fitzgerald and Allan and Janice Ivemeyer of Birmingham, Alabama. Mrs. Wasson is preceded in death by her father, Slater L. Coppage, her mother, Udelle Fletcher Coppage Ivemeyer, her husband, James. M. (Jim) Wasson, her step father, Henry W. Ivemeyer, Sr.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Reverend Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cat Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
