Charles Windall Corbett, 80, of Lake Park died Saturday, March 19, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Echols County on April 4, 1941, to the late Jesse Lee (Tince) Corbett and Flora Carter Corbett. Charles was a chemical tester at PCA in Clyattville and a member of Sardis Baptist Church. He collected tractors, loved the GA Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. Charles usually ended his conversations with “GO DAWGS.” He was a jokester and had a nickname for everyone.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of twenty seven years, Evelyn Highsmith Corbett of Lake Park, son, Gary Wendell Corbett of Canon, GA, daughters and sons in law, Sherry and Ron Wicker and Sheila and Ron Adams, all of Douglas, grandchildren, Michael Corbett, Nichole Seabolt (Dennis), Dawson Adams (Kara), Payton Adams, Sara Wicker and Bella Wicker, devoted fur baby, Charlie Brown, brother, Chester Corbett of Lake Park, sister, Gayle Corbett Adams of Douglas, sister in law, Joan Lee of Valdosta, multiple special nieces, nephews and a host of loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Glenn Robert Corbett, three brothers, Mac Corbett, Louis Corbett and Dick Corbett and his sister, Wonnie Mae Corbett Futch.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2022, at eleven a. m at Sardis Baptist Church with Reverend Buddy Jordan, Mr. Ron Adams, Mr. Dawson Adams and Reverend Garvie Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery with Reverend Mitchell Deems officiating at the committal. The family will receive friends at the Sardis Baptist Church, 128 Barney Road, Lake Park, GA, Sunday from five until eight p. m.
