CHARLES WILLIAM ARNOLD, 60, of Valdosta died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on February 4, 1946 in Valdosta to the late Grover C. and Clairece Brown Arnold and had lived in Valdosta for most of his life. Mr. Arnold was a retired salesman with Merita Bread Company after eighteen years of service and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Arnold formed and sang with the Milhous Quartet and was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Chancel Choir. He loved to bowl and fish.
Survivors include his wife, Wonda Faye Hall Arnold of Valdosta, one son and daughter in law, Everett and Teresa Arnold of Ray City, three daughters and sons in law, Larena and James Young of Valdosta, Elizabeth and Tim Curfman of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Heather and Robert Pate of Cheyenne, Wyoming, six grandchildren, Bryce Arnold, Anna Arnold, Jordan Young, Justin Young, Selena Curfman and Sarah Pate, two sisters and brothers in law, Jeweldine and Ernest Black, Wilma Jean and Rabon Sutton all of Valdosta, two brothers and sisters in law, David and Sharon Arnold of Valdosta and Jerry and Yvonne Arnold of Wilson, Arkansas, numerous aunts, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Friday, September 22, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Mason, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
