Charles R. Dickinson, 76, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at his residence. He was born on January 23, 1937 in Berea, KY to the late Otis Melvin Dickinson and Mary Ola Moyers Dickinson and was raised in Orlando, FL. Mr. Dickinson was a retired purchasing specialist from the Florida Department of Corrections, served in the United States Air Force for ten years as a machinist, was a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church where he served as president of the Fellowship Sunday School Class and was a member of the Valdosta Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Dickinson of Valdosta, one step son and step daughter in law, William Scott and Stephanie Hanner of Centerville, GA, one step grandson, William Trent Hanner of Centerville, one brother and sister in law, Don M. Sr. and Gretchen Dickinson of Columbia, SC, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at three p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Hale Bishop officiating. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com.
