Charles Priest Perry III
Charles Priest Perry, III, 62, of Valdosta entered into rest on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in Gainesville, FL and living for several years in Melrose, FL, the family moved to Toccoa, GA where he earned All-State football honors, and went on to play collegiate football for Western Carolina University. He began work for the Greenville (SC) Planning Commission and later worked for Flour Daniel Construction Company for several years. The Perry's soon moved to Madison, Ga where he worked for Avado Brands before moving to Valdosta in 2001 to work for Ambling Companies where he worked until the current time. At Ambling he began as President of Construction, then moving to serve as Chief Operating Officer and was currently the Managing Partner of Ambling University Development Group, LLC. Charles was an accomplished business man and took pride throughout his career to learn from the best and pass along knowledge by mentoring team members and individuals he managed. He achieved great success in business by applying lessons learned by growing up on a farm. Charles was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and was first and foremost a man of God and has certainly been welcomed into heaven to rejoice with our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Charles was an outstanding family man. He loved his wife and children dearly. He took time to impart the countless lessons he'd learned through his life onto them.
