Reverend Charles Parrish, 76, of Lake City, FL died Monday, April 13, 2009 in an automobile accident. He was born in Lowndes County, GA on December 21, 1932 to the late Carson Elton and Jewel Katherine Bennett Parrish. Reverend Parrish was a retired Free Will Baptist Minister and longtime Pastor in North Carolina and Georgia. He was retired from the United States Army and served in Korea and Viet Nam.
Reverend Parrish is survived by his wife of fifty two years, Barbara Parrish of Lake City, FL, his children, Kay Parrish Maness and her husband Gary of Greensboro, NC, Charles Parrish and his wife, Peggy of Mims, FL and Debra Lynn Parrish of Titusville, FL, three grandchildren, Jason Parrish, Joshua Maness and Erin Parrish, one brother, Ansel Parrish of Pelham, GA, one sister, Alice Springer of Sunnyvale, CA. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Clifton Parrish and Neal Parrish and one sister, Dorothy Jean Holland.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, 2009 at eleven a. m. at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira, GA with Reverend Rowan Sirmans and Reverend Jessie Cayton officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Sidney Free Will Baptist Church building fund, 5580 Sidney Road, Belhaven, NC 27810.
