Charles M. (Smokey) Rowland

Charles M. (Smokey) Rowland, 83, of Valdosta died Saturday, November 12, 2016 at his residence. He was born on August 21, 1933 in Valdosta to the late Willis M. and Annie Nell Allbritton Rowland. Mr. Rowland was a salesman for Roger Budd Chevrolet and Tommy Griner Cadillac.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Rowland of Valdosta, son and daughter in law, Dewayne and Mary Ann Rowland of Valdosta, two grandchildren, Scott Rowland of Valdosta and Jessica Moss (Randy) of Seattle, WA, step grandson, David Carter (Dawn) of Valdosta, two great granddaughters, Hannah Rowland and Baileigh Rowland, three step great grandchildren, Danielle, Deanna and Dawson Carter. Mr. Rowland is predeceased by his son, Mike Rowland and four brothers.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 2:30 p. m. at Redland Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jay Watkins officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends in the old sanctuary of Redland Baptist Church from one p. m. until two p. m. Friday prior to the service.
