Charles M. Nolen, Jr., 69, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at his home. Born in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania on November 1, 1936, he was the son of the late Charles Millard, Sr. and Margaret Miller Nolen. Mr. Nolen’s career in military government service spanned 50 years. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy, 26 years in the U.S. Air Force and more than 20 years in government civil service. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Rose M. (Bunny) Nolen of Valdosta, three sons and a daughter in law, Charles M. Nolen, III, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, Randolph A. and Tracey Nolen of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, Marion W. Holley III of Montgomery, Alabama; two daughters, Christie Tyree of Montgomery, Alabama, Catese Chaffee of Orlando, Florida; four grandchildren, April Farleman, Edward Nolen, Chelsea Nolen, Joseph Holley, one great grandchild, Zoran Holley; a brother and sister in law, Richard and Betty Nolen of Pennsylvania, four sisters and brothers in law, Marie and Donnie Rabuck, Nancy Reedinger, Sue and Dennis Leitzel of Pennsylvania, Marion and Mark Maurer of Florida: several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Saturday from 5 – 7:30 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be held at one p. m., CST, Monday, October 9, 2006, at Oakwood Annex Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama with full military honors.
