Charles Lott Belcher, 77, of Quitman died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on January 10, 1938 in Waycross to the late John Odell and Sadie Belle Corbett Belcher. Mr. Belcher was retired from the United States Navy having served in Vietnam. He was one of the plank owners of the USS Midway and a lifetime member of the VFW in Quitman. Mr. Belcher was a co-owner of the Morven Music Hall.
Survivors include two daughters, Chalsey Dorsey of Las Vegas, NV, Katherine Belle Perkins of St. Augustine, FL; son and daughter in law, Curtis and Nicole Lynch of Valodsta; grandchildren, Jordan Lynch, C. J. Lynch, Madison Lynch, Katrina and Nick Powell, Angela and David Harvey, Mary and Gilead Dechner, Mark Dorsey, Nick Dorsey, Stephen Charles Dorsey, Geoffrey Nagels, Travis Nagels; great grandchildren, Layla, Malia, Iris, Ethan and Weston who is due in January; special pets, Dumpling, Piddle Butt and Priss; special friends, Ursula and Allie Johannesen of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Parker Belcher and a brother, Roy Belcher.
A military memorial service will be held at 2pm Friday in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Georgia Christian School Athletic Department, 4359 Dasher Road, Valdosta, GA 31601.
