Charles Lawrence "Chuck" Pitts

Charles Lawrence "Chuck" Pitts, 58, of Valdosta and formerly of Byron, GA died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his residence. He was born on July 24, 1955 in Fort Valley, GA to Charles Wesley Pitts and Evie Carrell Churchwell Pitts. Chuck is a retired SSgt from the United States Air Force having served from 1977 until 2001 and worked for Training Rehabilitation and Development Institute as a management supervisor. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and a Mason.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Debbie G. Pitts of Valdosta, two sons, Robert Pitts (Candace) and Joshua L. Pitts (Jennifer) all of Valdosta, one step daughter, Helen Young of Albany, two step sons, Andrew Young (Marcel) of Albany and Joshua Davidson of Leesburg, granddaughter, Aalissa Pitts, grandson, Abel Lawrence Pitts, several loving step grandchildren, his mother, Evie C. Pitts of Byron, his sister, Deborah Pitts Coleman (Brent) of Winder and two nephews, Justin Coleman and Tyler Coleman and several loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Chaplain Jeffrey May officiating. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com.
