Charles L. Davis

Charles L. Davis, 85, of Valdosta, Georgia went to be with the Lord on, Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. Bro. Leo was born on October 24, 1923 in Salt Rock, West Virginia, the son of the late Charles Earsel and Anna Bertha Davis. Bro. Leo accepted the Lord into his life at the age of twelve and began his ministry at that time. He pastored at many churches throughout his life, continuing to serve the Lord on this earth until going to be with him.

Surviving are his son Charles L. Davis Jr. and daughter-in law Lucy M. Davis of Valdosta; nephew, Matt Labrake of Atlanta, who was always there when needed; a special niece, Linda Adkins of Huntington, West Virginia; a step-daughter, Dianne Russell and her husband Rob; two step-granddaughters, Robin McLaurin and Allison Ondovcik; and a host of nieces, nephews, Church family and friends too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his wife Rachel Davis, two brothers, Ralph and Wetzel and two sisters, Madaline and Juanita.

A Special Memorial Service will be held at Gateway Baptist Church at 1:00 pm on Saturday January 3, 2009. Rev. Jack Seivered and Rev. Tommy Bussey will officiate. Per his request, he was sent to his final resting place in Salt Rock, West Virginia, where graveside services were held on December 15, 2008. In lieu of flowers, Bro.
