Charles John Rozek, Jr.

September 1, 1942 — December 24, 2020

On Thursday, December 24th, 2020, Charles John Rozek, Jr. (Jack) passed away in the presence of his family after battling a short illness.

Jack was born to Charles John Rozek, Sr. and Esther Lawrence Rozek on September 1, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland. After growing up in Baltimore, he attended Plymouth Preparatory School in Massachusetts where he lettered in lacrosse. As a young man, he graduated from the University of Maryland where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. Soon he became a businessman when he went to work with his father in their family business. Later on in life he moved to Valdosta, GA where he worked in sales.

Jack enjoyed fishing in his spare time and he was an avid FSU football fan. Attending many games in his lifetime. He met and married Nancy Donald and had two loving children with her, Nancy and Charlie. He was very involved in the Episcopal Church his entire life, serving on the vestry for many years at various churches.

Charles John Rozek, Jr is preceded in death by his loving wife Nancy Donald Rozek of 30 years, his sister Sarah Rozek Hickman (Melvin), his second wife Diane Spells Rozek, and his third wife Raye Portnoff Rozek. He is survived by his children Nancy Durkee Wilkerson (Burt) of Macon and his son Charles John Rozek, III of Savannah, his sister Carla Rozek Waple (Chip) of Tennessee, his grandchildren MacLaren Anne Durkee and Caroline Murphy Durkee of Macon, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews that currently reside in North Carolina and New Hampshire.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 1 pm at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta, GA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of Georgia or a charity of your choice. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
