Charles Edwin Cook, 66, of Hahira died Monday, April 18, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on August 30, 1938 in Ray City to the late Eliga Lee and Verdie Griner Cook and had lived in Hahira since 1983. Mr. Cook was a veteran of the United States Army and a Lowndes County Correctional Officer.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Bailey Cook of Hahira, two daughters and a son in law, Sandra Cook of Hahira, Charlene and Chris Mathis of Nashville, three grandchildren, Kale Cook, Christy Mathis and Meagan Mathis, one brother, Buddy Griner of Lakeland and one sister, Annie Mae Swords of Adel.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Thursday, April 21, 2005 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ramah Cemetery in Ray City. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
