Charles Edward (Trey) Kageler III, 56, of Valdosta died on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born in Valdosta on July 7, 1958 to the late Charles Edward Kageler Jr. and Joan Lowery Bolen. He was a self-employed hair dresser and pastry chef. Trey loved life and lived it to the fullest. He traveled the world and pursued his passion of scuba diving and underwater photography. He was very artistic and brought out the beauty in all he saw and did but most of all he loved to laugh.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Roesan and David Leonard of Kingsland, Georgia; a brother, Mark Artis of Alpharetta, Georgia; a sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Mike Heidelbach of Canton, Georgia; a nephew and his spouse, Chance and Paige Leonard of Jacksonville, Florida; a niece and her spouse, Candace and Adam Newell of Jacksonville, North Carolina; nephews, Ian Heidelbach of Canton, Georgia and Troy Artis of Alpharetta, Georgia; a great-nephew, Jaeden Newell of Jacksonville, North Carolina; numerous relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Trey Kageler will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Central Church of Christ with Mr. Bryan Jarvis officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made in honor of Trey's memory to the American Heart Association, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Susan G.
