Charles Edward Copeland

Charles Edward Copeland, 79, of Dasher, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Friday, August 8, 2008. He was born on October 21, 1928 in Lowndes county to the late James Roy and Jewell Dowling Copeland. Mr. Copeland was a member of Statenville Church of Christ, graduated from Dasher Bible School, attended Harding College in Searcy, Arkansas, served in the United States Air Force, retired from the United States Postal Service with forty years of service, was a member of the National Rural Letter Carrier Association. He served for many years on the Board of Directors with Georgia Christian School, Raintree Village Children's Home and was a charter member of Francis Lake Golf Club.

Mr. Copeland is survived by his devoted wife of fifty six years, Annette Hiers Copeland of Dasher, two daughters and one son in law, Denise and Spud Steward and Sherri Cannady of Dasher, one son and daughter in law, Mike and Cheryl Copeland of Appleton, WI, special friend, Beverly Harrell of Dasher, grandchildren and their spouses, Shannon Bowling, Chad and Carrie Bowling, Blake Cowart, Dillon Cowart, Casey and Edward Moody and Chance Copeland, one great grandson, Mac Edward Bowling and many special nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one brother and sister in law, James R. and Elizabeth Copeland and one sister and brother in law, Marie and Albert Gafford.

Memorial services will be held Monday, August 11, 2008 at six p. m. at the Dasher Church of Christ with Mr. Dale Armstrong and Evangelist Evans McMullen officiating. The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the church.
