Charles David Rogers, 58, of Quitman died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at his home. He was born in Hahira on February 23, 1952 to the late Wilbur Thomas Rogers, Sr. and Vivian Lewis Rogers and had lived in Brooks County all of his life. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Barney Baptist Church, a self employed contractor and loved his children and grandchildren very much. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and Wild Adventures.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy M. Rogers of Quitman, his four children, David Jason Rogers of Barney, David Eric Rogers, Brandi Paige Rogers Sumler and her husband, Michael Sumler, Jimmy A. Piland all of Quitman, two grandchildren, Brittani Michelle (Mic) Sumler and Brian Michael Sumler both of Quitman and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Thomas Rogers, Jr. and two sisters, Marlene Rogers Folsom and Linda Rogers Hickey.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Barney First Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Wise officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery.
