CHARLES D. HICKMAN, 74, of Valdosta died Monday, March 14, 2005 at his home. He was born on August 4, 1931 in Auburndale, Florida to the late Grady and Annie Edwards Hickman and had lived in Valdosta since 1990. Mr. Hickman was a retired fertilizer-chemical salesman and a member of the Ousley Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Korea from 1949-1953 and he enjoyed being with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Hickman of Valdosta, one daughter and son in law, Diane and Oscar Zipperer of Valdosta, two sons and daughters in law, Mark and Donna Hickman of Thomasville, Chuck and Clara Hickman of Millers Creek, NC., his grandchildren, Tadd Zipperer, Jessica and Michael Wehner, Jada Zipperer, Billy Hickman, Philip Hickman, Jennifer Hickman, Corey Hickman, Justin Hickman, Allison Hickman, Bess Jordan and Levi Willis, three brothers, Lester Hickman of Lakeland, Fla., Johnnie Hickman of Aurora, Ill., Jackie Hickman of Haines City, Fla., one sister, Dorothy Maits of Lakeland, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Thursday at the Ousley Baptist Church with the Rev. Dillard Ensley officiating. Burial will follow in the Ousley Cemetery.
