CHARLES BRYAN JOHNSON, 64, of Valdosta, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 1, 1944 in Florence, SC, and had lived in Valdosta since 1967.

Mr. Johnson had served four years in the U.S. Marine Corp. and was co-owner of Johnson Distributing. He enjoyed playing golf, softball, fishing, and quail hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Johnson of Valdosta; two sons, Bryan Johnson of Savannah, and Matthew Johnson of Valdosta; one daughter, Katherine Johnson of Valdosta; his mother, Vera Johnson of Valdosta; one brother, Joe Johnson and wife Jenny of Valdosta; one sister, Susan Whitfield and husband Bill of Evergreen, CO; his step-mother, Jeanette Johnson of Lake Park; a step-son, Michael Alexander of Valdosta; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Leon "Si" Johnson.

Services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, November 15, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Mac Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
