Charles Bland

Charles Bland, 68, of Lake Park died on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on November 8, 1941 in Lowndes County to the late Charles Reuben and Zona Mae Gaston Bland. Mr. Bland was a graduate from Clyattville High School. He was employed as a Newspaper Routeman and also was a musician who loved to play the piano and the guitar.

Survivors include two sisters, Alvida and her husband Bill Howard of Thomson, Ga. and Myrna and her husband Eddie Collins of Cave Springs, Ga.; two brothers, Raymond and his wife Mary Bland and Russell and his wife Beth Bland all of Valdosta, Ga., as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services for Charles Bland will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2010 in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Mr. Benny Daniels officiating. A private family burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
