Charles Akridge Edwards

Charles Akridge Edwards, 70, of Valdosta died on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born on November 6, 1942 in Columbus, Georgia to the late George and Helen Hethcox Edwards. He was retired from Harvey's Supermarket as a manager after 43 years of dedicated service. He was a lifetime member of the local Elks Lodge and he was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sylvia Edwards; a son and daughter-in-law, Tod and Wanda Edwards; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Jason Daniels; two grandchildren, Jacob and Jenna Daniels all of Valdosta; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Kay Edwards of Savannah; a sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Ray Poffenbarger of Bulls Gap, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Charles Edwards will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Justice officiating.
