Cecilia Maria Hancock

Cecilia Maria Hancock, 66, of Valdosta died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 23, 1942 to the late Andrew and Cecilia Anne Faupel Langon and had lived in Valdosta since 1965. Mrs. Hancock was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at South Georgia Medical Center and Smith Hospital Detox Center. She loved her cats and taking in stray cats and also loved to take in and care for children.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Hancock of Valdosta, her daughter, Cecilia Whiddon of Valdosta, her son and daughter in law, Greg and Shannon Hancock of Valdosta, six grandchildren, Stephanie Whiddon of Valdosta, Shaun Whiddon of Nashville, Jamie Whiddon, Jordan Hancock, Zoe Hancock and Lexy Hancock all of Valdosta, a special niece, Mary O'Leary, a special nephew, Tommy Langon both of New York, numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will he held at 3pm, Thursday, July 3, 2008 in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Father Dan O'Connell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake Park Cemetery.
