Catherine Emma Sadler Cope

Catherine Emma Sadler Cope, 87, of Hahira died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on September 27, 1920 to the late Samuel K. and Catherine Cecile Dornin Sadler. Mrs. Cope moved from Pennsylvania in 1960 to Dade County, Florida where she worked in the Dade County School Food Services for twenty five years and enjoyed baking and cooking. She and her husband, the late William A. Cope, Jr. were charter members of the Friendship Presbyterian Church in Hialeah, Florida. Mrs. Cope moved to Ocala, Florida in 1986 where she resided until moving to Hahira one year ago. She was a member of the Marion Oaks Presbyterian Church in Ocala.

Survivors include two sons and daughters in laws, Al and Jo Anne Cope of Hahira, Jay and Mary Cope of Pembroke Pines, Fla., three grandchildren, Billy (Mary) Cope of Hahira, Heather Cope of Pembroke Pines, Fla. and Kelly Cope of Valdosta, three great grandchildren, Logan Stringer, Will Cope and Emma Cope all of Hahira, two brothers and sisters in law, Gary and Pauline Sadler of Chambersburg, PA. and Bob and Judy Sadler of Ulm, Montana, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Cope, Jr.

A visitation was held on Thursday, June 12, 2008 from 6-8pm at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Westmoreland County Memorial Park in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the Langdale Hospice House, 2251 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602.
