Casie Pearl (Tid) Rowell, 90, of Shady Shores, Texas and formerly of Valdosta, passed peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 22, 1933, in Valdosta to the late Anderson and Casie Newsome Boyd, and had been a resident of Valdosta all her life, having moved six years ago to live with her daughter. Mrs. Rowell had retired from the Lowndes County Board of Education after 24 years where she served as a paraprofessional with Pine Grove Elementary School. She was a long-time member of Forest Park Church of Christ and loved working in her yard and gardening. Above all, she valued and loved her family with all her heart.
Mrs. Rowell is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Richard Barr of Shady Shores, Texas; her granddaughters and their spouses, Ashlee and Jesse Olvera of Garland, Texas, and Kelsee and Nathan Bobrowski of Star, Idaho; her great-grandchildren, Marlee Olvera, Halynn Olvera, and Champ Olvera all of Garland, Texas; three nephews, Steve Boyd, and Dale Rowell both of Valdosta, and Kim Rowell of Central America. She was preceded by her husband, Robert (Bob) Rowell; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam and Millie Boyd, and Bill and Martha Boyd; a sister and brother-in-law, Lucy and Joe Rowell.
A graveside service for Casie Pearl (Tid) Rowell, will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, 12:30 p.m. at the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Rowell’s memory to Harris Hospice 550 Edmonds Lane #102, Lewisville, Texas 75067.
