Carro Nell Arnold Talley, 88, of Valdosta, died on May 20, 2005 at her residence. Born on March 10, 1917, in Valdosta, she was the daughter of the late Gilford Daniel (Sr.) and Carro Melissa Dees Arnold, Mrs. Talley was a graduate of Valdosta High School and she and her family were charter members of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Parlor Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Talley was one of the very first female Real Estate Brokers in Valdosta and she was also a member of Wymodausis and the Literary Guild and the Readers Review Book Clubs.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Barbara and Rusty Griffin of Valdosta, Kay and Bob Jenkins of Savannah; five grandchildren, Amy (Kevin) King of Valdosta, Wendy (Chuck) Rogers of Atlanta, Katie (Thomas) Reed of Lincolnton, Katherine (Winston) Graham and Talley (Jason) Rowell all of Savannah; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilkes “Dub” Talley and three sisters and a brother.
Funeral services for Carro Nell Talley will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2005 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Rikard and Dr. Charles Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The visitation was yesterday, Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Carson McLane Funeral Home.
