Carolyn Walker Mixon

Carolyn Walker Mixon, 62, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Baptist Health, Jacksonville, FL.

She was born January 4, 1954 in Valdosta, a daughter of the late Adam and Irene Thornton Walker. Carolyn had attended New Life Community Church, Lake Park.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Chriss L. Mixon of Valdosta; one son, Michael Mixon of Valdosta; one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Castellano and Billy Watson of Lake Park; two grandchildren, Damion Castellano and Marissa Castellano of Lake Park; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Coy and Cheryl Walker of Myakka City, FL, Larry and Sandy Walker of Little Rock, AR, and Gary and Judy Walker of Nokomis, FL; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda Grace and Ronnie Willis of Valdosta; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Jr. Walker, Leroy Walker, Daniel Walker, Richard Walker and Averitt Walker.

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Mixon will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016, at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, with Pastor Keith Allsbrook officiating. Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com.
