Carolyn Jean Hightower, 79 of Valdosta died Saturday, March 4, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on May 11, 1937 in Perry, Florida to the late Woodrow Wilson and Eunice Parker Hightower. Ms. Hightower was a member of the Dasher Church of Christ and was a former school teacher and an interior decorator. She loved singing and playing instruments and had a great sense of humor. She was loved by all who knew her.
Survivors include her brother and sister in law, Jimmy and Clare Hightower of Woodstown, NJ; special friends who were like her sisters, Barbara and Wally Colson, Mary Jean and Al Armstrong, Martha and Emmett Bridges all of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Wagner.
Private graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Dasher Cemetery with Mr. David Nelson officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Georgia Christian School, 4359 Dasher Road, Valdosta, GA 31601. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
