Carolyn Gooch Moore

Carolyn Gooch Moore, 66, of Ray City, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Langdale Hospice House, after a brief illness.

She was born April 12, 1948, in Andalusia, Alabama, a daughter of the late W.A. and Christine Bonner Gooch. For over twenty years she was employed as a Waitress and Cook at Waffle Houses in the Valdosta area. Mrs. Moore was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, and she loved her church family. She enjoyed being on the road with her husband and enjoyed the Smokey Mountains.

She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Larry Moore of Ray City; a brother, Bill Gooch of Valdosta; a brother-in-law, James Moore of Warner Robins; one niece; three nephews; and three cousins.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Moore will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Terrell Ruis officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
