Carol Columbus Tyler

CAROL COLUMBUS TYLER, 80, of Hahira died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on April 7, 1927 in Hahira to the late Caulie C. and Minnie Dasher Tyler and was a lifelong resident of Hahira. Mr. Tyler was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a retired construction and iron worker. He loved gospel and country music.

Survivors include his wife, Velma Tucker Tyler, son and daughter in law, Jimmy and Susan Tyler, two daughters and a son in law, Judy and John Pike, Amy Tyler all of Hahira, 8-grandchildren, 6-great grandchildren and a sister, Sue Fiveash of Hahira. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janie Tyler and a sister, Deloris Stalvey.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Mr. Tyler will lie in state at the church from 1:30pm until service time.
