Carlton H. "Bill" Sherrod

Carlton H. "Bill" Sherrod, 71, of Hahira died Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 15, 1943 in Thomasville to the late John D. and Bonnie Pierce Sherrod and had lived in Jacksonville, Florida for many years before moving to Hahira two years ago. Mr. Sherrod was retired from Sam's Club and a Baptist.

Survivors include his Goddaughter and her husband, Starr and Charles Williamson of Jacksonville, FL, his sister, Evelyn Jacobs of Hahira, three brothers and sisters in law, Harold and Winnie Sherrod of Sylvester, James and Violet Sherrod, Wayne and Zelda Sherrod all of Coolidge, sister in law, Marie Sherrod of Pavo, a niece, Darlene Hayes of Hahira, numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, David Sherrod, Wallace Sherrod, Collis Sherrod and Pete Sherrod.

Memorial services will be held at 4pm, Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with the Rev. Dennis Nobles officiating.
