Carl Louis Adams, Sr., 64, of Valdosta, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022, at South Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. He was born in Miami, Florida on August 14, 1957, to the late Roscoe Carl and Yvonne Laham Adams. Mr. Adams had served as the Superintendent for Richardson Turner Construction (RTC) and was of the Greek Orthodox faith. He was known as a soft-spoken, hard working man, who enjoyed Dunkin’ Donuts, and was a loving husband, father, and papa, as well as a loyal and faithful friend.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Adams of Valdosta; his children C.J. Adams of Lake Park, B.J. Southers (Kimmie) of Tifton, and Daniel Southers (Kristin) of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Fisher Adams, Abby Southers, Beau Southers, Bear Southers, Easton Norris, Bristol Southers, and Danielle Southers; his sister, Michele Bishop (Michael) of Lake Park; nieces, Emily Thornberry (Lane) of Alabama, and Jamie Bishop Perez (Luis) of Gainesville, Georgia; nephews, William Michael Frier (Amber) of Moultrie, and Eric Smith (Megan) Thomasville, Georgia; parents-in-law, Don and Caroline Martin of Valdosta; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don Martin Jr., (Janet) of McDonough, Georgia, Tony Martin (Ellen) of Athens, Kathy Register of Valdosta, Patty Martin of Valdosta, Mike Martin (Kelley) of Guyton, Georgia, Fran Martin of Valdosta and Chris Martin of Valdosta; and numerous nieces and nephews by marriage. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Kenneth Adams.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Chaplain Brian Sayre officiating a closing prayer service.
