Carl G. Janney

Carl G. Janney, 72, of Quitman, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Langdale Hospice House. He was born on December 16, 1948, in Macon to the late Earl Hinton Janney and Alvina Irene Miller Janney. He graduated in the Class of '66 Lanier High School for boys in Macon, GA. He went on to graduate from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors degree of Science in Agriculture and Masters degree of Science. After graduation he worked at Gold Kist in Athens, GA, as a Poultry Manager then moved to Orlando, FL where he worked for Southeastern Veterinary Supply Company. He later moved to Valdosta, GA, where he worked for Pfizer and retired after 35 years. After he retired from Pfizer, he worked for the Herndon Company as a real estate agent. He loved hunting, fishing, UGA football, and Little League World Series. He loved spending time with his grandkids and going on-golf cart rides with his favorite fur baby, Busta Brown. He always had treats in his pocket for Busta. His favorite getaway was at Keaton where he fished and enjoyed many sunsets with his wife Dianne.
Mr. Janney is survived by his wife Dianne Janney, of Quitman, GA; daughters, Amy Balch (Tim) of Hahira, Wendy Gaudin (Bill) of Duluth, GA; his son Josh Janney (Heidi) of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Harley Hayden, and Noah Balch, Rebecca Cowart (Brandon), Alex O’Neal, Jordan and Landon Janney; his great grandchildren Isabella Cowart and Brandon Cowart, Jr.; his brother, Dr. Earl H. Janney, Jr. (Johnette), of Valdosta, GA; and sisters-in-law, Eleanor Kelley, Etta Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Anne Kelley.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, from 5-7 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
