CARL “BUDDY” BROOKS, 65, of Valdosta died Monday, September 26, 2005 at his home after a lengthy illness due to lung cancer. He was born on January 30, 1940 in Colquitt County to the late Carl and Grace Hughes Brooks and had lived in this area all of his life. He was retired as a regional manager for Famous Amos Restaurants and a veteran of the United States Navy.

Survivors include two daughters, Renee Bragg of Boynton Beach, Fla. and Lisa Gibbs of Lacona, New York, one son, Jeff Brooks of Frisco, TX., five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Brooks.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, September 29, 2005 at the Rose of Sharon Cemetery in Doerun with the Rev. Tommy Bussey officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
