Burma Lee Welch, 82 of Valdosta, died on Monday, September 19, 2005. Born on September 29, 1922 in Dade City, FL, she was the daughter of the late Arnie J. and Nonnie Allen Wetherington and the widow of Jack Melton Welch. Mrs. Welch was an Avon Representative and a homemaker. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors are sisters and brother-in-law, Norma Clay of Naples, FL, Lorene and Wayne Williams of Kennesaw, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jackie and Mary Wetherington of Raleigh, NC, Bill and Delores Wetherington of Brunswick; nieces and nephews, Bill Wetherington, Jr., Sandy Sinclair, Michael Wetherington, Steven Wetherington, Tina Bright, Janice Ross, Donnie Ross, Roslyn Azbill, John Ross, Kathy Deacon; great nieces and nephews, Myers Wetherington, Whitney Wetherington, Kay Tidwell, Rebecca Wetherington, Pete Arney, Chelsea Azbill, Cori Azbill, Jessica Deacon and Stephen Deacon.
Funeral services for Mrs. Welch will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2005 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
